Aunt Florence swims with the caplin..Around 1970, we had a visit from aunt florence and two of her children. My uncle
had moved to Boston, around 1950 and married a girl from Boston....This was, to my knowledge, her second visit to Newfoundland.
We decided to take them to Bellevue beach for the day and we were lucky enough to be there when the caplin rolled. Florence,
became so excited that she jumped into the water and started to swim with the caplin. She was carrying a little extra weight
and I am not sure if the caplin thought a whale had hit them or some other large fish..It was hilarious to see her in the
water and her dress (she had a dress on) floating on the water...(I'll leave the rest to your imagination)
Yes, we did get some caplin...
